Chelsea preparing Ronaldo offer?

It’s claimed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is preparing an offer to Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo and will build a team around the Portuguese.

AS reports Abramovich wants to arrest the Blues’ decline by bringing Ronaldo back to the Premier League and will make an ‘irresistible’ offer to Madrid to begin the process.

The Russian’s bid will trump Paris Saint-Germain’s, also said to be keen on Ronaldo, and exploit Abramovich’s good relationship with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

Abramovich is willing to go past €100m if that’s what it takes, and will raise the money by selling Eden Hazard, Oscar and Nemanja Matic in an attempt to rejuvenate what this season has been a struggling Chelsea side.

Ronaldo has sent mixed messages about his future, with his Madrid deal expiring in 2018 and more than once the player has hinted at life outside Santiago Bernabeu, AS notes.

Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea manager who previously worked with Ronaldo at Madrid, could also be on board with the signing, AS suggesting past differences between player and Coach are settled.

PSG were, it’s suggested, hoping to pair Mourinho and Ronaldo in Ligue 1 but the relationship could be restored at Stamford Bridge instead.
