No Bale in Wales squad

Gareth Bale isn’t in the Wales squad to play the Netherlands despite suggestions the Real Madrid forward would be included.

Bale hasn’t played since Madrid’s mid-October win over Levante, when he was substituted at half time because of injury.

The calf muscle strain Bale suffered hasn’t recovered sufficiently for Wales manager Chris Coleman to include the former Tottenham Hotspur man in the squad to face the Dutch.

It had been reported Wales would call Bale and Madrid would be happy about it as they wanted Bale to get some game time before the Barcelona fixture on November 21.

The BBC reports, however, that Madrid and Coleman spoke and the decision was taken not to include the 26-year-old.

Bale is though back in light training and may be involved this weekend, when Madrid face Sevilla at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
