Manuel Pellegrini explained the changes Manchester City made from the first Champions League meeting against Sevilla to their away fixture.
City stormed past Sevilla at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to qualify for the knockout rounds with two games to spare having struggled in the reverse encounter.
“I wasn’t happy with the way we were playing and I am today. We missed four or five clear chances,” the former Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga Coach said, AS reports.
“With Yaya Toure and Fernandinho more advanced we were able to pressure Sevilla and avoid what happened to us in Manchester.
“From there we built our victory here. We had the personality to lead us to victory.
“When you have to take the initiative it is more complicated. In the first game Sevilla would have taken a draw, created danger and put us in difficulty despite not having many chances.
“So we corrected the position of Fernandinho and Toure.
“I’m very happy because we played a complete game. Our players’ performances were great.”
