Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa suggested only hard work will correct what went wrong in the Champions League defeat to Benfica.
Los Colchoneros took the lead through Correa only to concede twice to the Portuguese visitors, the goal scorer lamenting a lack of further goals from the team despite chances created.
“We had the first 30 minutes to settle the match and we weren’t able to,” he recalled, AS reports.
“It’s a downer, not having won in the Champions League and at our home. The goals wouldn’t come and we have to improve on that. We had chances to score another goal.
“We train [on Thursday], think about the next game and keep working.”
