Enrique: Barca back to best

Luis Enrique believes Barcelona showed they were back to their best during Sunday's 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.

Luis Suarez scored the only goal of the game, early in the second half, to earn La Blaugrana revenge on the Basques, who ran out 5-1 aggregate winners in the Supercopa recently, and the Coach felt his side performed “at a very high level”.

“We were very complete in all facets of the game and started the season in the same vein as we ended the last, at a very high level,” he said after the game.

“I said the circumstances would be very different from the Supercopa, and that proved to be the case.

“We stopped Athletic from posing much danger and created many more chances than our opponents, although we ultimately suffered because of the tight score.

“The full-backs are very important in this team and I'm very happy with [Jordi Alba and makeshift right-back Sergi Roberto], especially Sergi Roberto because he had to go into an unexpected situation [referring to his introduction as Dani Alves' replacement].

“[On the injuries to Alves and Sergio Busquets], they don't seem serious.

"These things are part of football. It's a very physically-demanding sport and [injuries] are normal at this stage of the season.”
