Real Madrid have confirmed that Sergio Ramos has agreed a contract extension until 2020, thereby ending a summer’s worth of speculation about his future.
The latest round of reports claimed the Red Devils would only sell David de Gea to Madrid if they got the 29-year-old in return, but he has now affirmed his commitment to Los Blancos.
A statement on the capital giants’ official website reads: “The President’s box at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday August 17, at 13:30 CET, will stage the ceremony to mark the renewal of Sergio Ramos.
“Attending the ceremony will be Real Madrid President Florentino Perez and the player, who is now tied to the club the next five seasons.”
