Sergio Ramos will be part of a presentation to mark his new Real Madrid contract early next week after the parties finally agreed terms.
AS reports that there are still minor details to be resolved but a presentation should be held on Monday to announce the deal.
Ramos at one point looked bound for Manchester United after falling out with the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy.
The centre-back went so far as to ask to leave the club, it’s believed, before cooler heads prevailed and a new contract was offered.
Ramos is expected to sign a five-year contract after the Madrid higher-ups came to the belief that losing such a large presence in the same summer as selling Iker Casillas would not go down well with the fans.
Cadena Cope add Ramos’ pay will be bumped up to €10m-a-year, and part of the issue was Ramos felt Madrid hadn’t lived up to a promise of a pay rise after winning the Champions League.
