Porto have completed the signing of Iker Casillas from Real Madrid on a two-year contract, with the option to make it three.
The news was confirmed via Porto’s official website on Sunday, although the transfer fee remains undisclosed.
Nonetheless, it is understood that the goalkeeper took an €8.5m pay cut in order to join the Portuguese giants.
Casillas, 34, arrived at Madrid as a nine-year-old and went on to become the most decorated shot-stopper in their history, making 725 appearances in the process.
However, his final season at the Santiago Bernabeu was overshadowed by a perceived spate of poor performances and abuse from disgruntled fans.
The Spaniard will find himself in good company at Porto as compatriot Julen Lopetegui is at the helm, while many other former La Liga players are on their books.
Madrid, meanwhile, will now look to step up their search for a new goalkeeper after so far failing to make a breakthrough in negotiations with Kiko Casilla and David de Gea.
