Mother hopes Bacca stays put

The mother of Carlos Bacca has revealed that she hopes her son stays at Sevilla this summer.

The likes of Roma and Milan have been linked with buying out the Colombian striker’s contract for €30m, but Eloisa Bacca believes he is “very happy” in Andalucia.

“I hope he stays. He’s very happy [at Sevilla], but if he joins another team, I’ll continue to support him,” she told reporters after Sevilla’s Under-12 Liga triumph on Friday.

Bacca’s two-match ban for his role in the Brazil-Colombia fracas last week sees him miss Saturday’s Copa America quarter-final with Argentina.
