Pep Guardiola has praised the candidates to be Barcelona President but admitted a soft spot for Joan Laporta. “He gave me an opportunity.”
Guardiola’s comments have been reported by Mundo Deportivo and AS and although the Bayern Munich Coach spoke highly of each candidate, he did acknowledge his relationship with former President Laporta.
“All the candidates for the Presidency are very good but I can’t deny my affection for Laporta is very big,” he said.
“He trusted me when I was nobody. It was he who gave me an opportunity to sit on Barca’s bench.
“I’ve said it before, now and forever, and now because there are elections.”
