Luis Enrique has explained he couldn’t do anything other than extend his stay at Barcelona after a treble-winning first season.
The Coach’s new deal was confirmed on Tuesday evening, shortly before President Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned to call elections.
Enrique said after his new contract was confirmed that the decision was an easy one, and he is already looking forward to next season.
“How could I be anything other than very happy?” he asked, Sport reports.
“After the year we have lived, with difficulties but with a great end result, I’m more than excited to come back and win trophies.
“Everything that approaches is now more exciting.”
