Real Madrid are getting closer to completing the signing of David De Gea from Manchester United, according to reports.
AS cites claims from the British Press that say Madrid President Florentino Perez is to meet with Jorge Mendes, the goalkeeper’s representative, with a view to closing the deal.
De Gea’s United contract expires in 2016 and Madrid are hopeful of signing the Spain international for €20m, beneath the fee United paid Atletico Madrid in 2011.
Madrid could go as high as €30m, however, and would reportedly consider including Karim Benzema in their offer should negotiations stall.
United would turn to Netherlands international Jasper Cillessen should De Gea move to Santiago Bernabeu.
