Real Madrid have announced that they have decided to retain Casemiro following his successful loan spell with Porto.
The Portuguese giants exercised their option to purchase the player for €15m last week, but Los Blancos have now confirmed via a statement on their official website that they have countered the deal for €7.5m.
If Madrid wish to sell him on or include him in another transfer, Porto will be entitled to €7.5m in compensation.
Casemiro, 23, was recently named in the Brazil squad for Copa America, which kicks off next week.
