Enrique Cerezo has admitted that it will be “very difficult” for Atletico Madrid to sign Carlos Tevez and Radamel Falcao this summer.

The Colombian striker has been linked with a return to the Vicente Calderon after seeing his loan spell at Manchester United end, while a move has been mooted for the Juventus star, but the President insists there is nothing to report on the pair.

“Fans always dream of new signings, but I think the team are very good as they are,” he told Radio4G.

“Having said that, we’ll bring two or three reinforcements.

“[On Tevez and Falcao], it’d be very difficult [to bring them in] and I don’t think there’s anything happening right now.

“Our staff are working on strengthening two or three areas of the squad, while [Antoine Griezmann] is not for sale.

“Our fans must be aware that both Enrique Cerezo and Miguel Angel Gil won’t hold back any of our financial resources in building a great team.

“[On Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao fans booing the Spanish national anthem before the Copa del Rey final], I’ve always said that football must be watched with friends or family and if your team lose then it’s because your team lost and vice versa.

“What we can’t have is a political act being deliberately staged before a game. Football has nothing to do with politics, although lately they have been mixed together.”
