Figo removed from Barca legends team

Luis Figo was removed from a combined Barcelona and Juventus legends team after La Blaugrana complained to UEFA.

Former Barca winger Figo was to represent the club in a legends match prior to the Champions League final, Sport reports.

Figo, formerly a candidate for the FIFA presidency, was to be joined by the likes of Ludovic Giuly, Deco, Gio Van Bronckhorst and Eric Abidal.

But Barca argued Figo is no legend at Camp Nou after his 2000 defection to Real Madrid and UEFA took the Portuguese out of the team.

The Figo-less combined side will face an all-star team that includes players such as Cafu, Steve McManaman and Clarence Seedorf.

Alex Del Piero, Edwin Van Der Sar, Christian Vieri and David Trezeguet are among the Juventus legends that will turn out in Berlin.
