Diego Simeone is proud of Atletico Madrid after they were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid.
Javier Hernandez settled the closely-fought tie with a late goal against Cholo’s 10 men, and he spoke to reporters following the final whistle.
“I’m proud of how my team competed. I have a team of men,” he said, AS reports.
“I was taught that in a game you have to compete. If you give your life, you go home happy. There’s no negative feelings. There are Coaches jealous of having these players.
“There’s no point reviewing [Arda Turan’s red card] because it won’t change the outcome.
“We lacked connections. We were unable to complete combinations and that was important for the work of our rival.”
