Marcelino wary of Cordoba threat

Marcelino has urged Villarreal not to underestimate Cordoba when they lock horns at El Madrigal in La Liga on Sunday.

The Yellow Submarine are currently experiencing a slump in form, with no wins in their last seven matches, including back-to-back home defeats, and the Coach insists his side will not find it any easier against the basement boys.

“Cordoba will be playing without the pressure of having to win and that makes them dangerous,” he said at a Press conference.

“Their attackers will be playing with freedom, so we should be very attentive to win. We don’t trust them.

“We need to win at home because we come [into this match] on the back of two straight defeats at El Madrigal and it hurts.

“I saw Mateo [Musacchio] last Sunday and Monday. [His six-month layoff] is a huge blow.

“He’s already suffered a serious injury this season and we’ll lose important qualities [in his absence].

“Fortunately, the injury was less serious than it could’ve been.”
