Madrid monitoring Bale injury scare

Real Madrid will today discover the extent of the injury suffered by Gareth Bale amid concerns the Wales winger has broken a toe.

Bale was forced out of Tuesday’s training session, Marca reports, and won’t be involved against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti won’t risk Bale, it’s believed, with the Champions League double-header against Atletico Madrid on the horizon.

Mundo Deportivo adds that Madrid fear Bale has fractured his toe and, should that be the case, his season is effectively over – James Rodriguez went down with a similar problem in February and took two months to recover.
