Bale named in Madrid squad

Carlo Ancelotti has named Gareth Bale in the Real Madrid squad for the short trip to Rayo Vallecano after Bale underwent tests on his injured foot.

AS confirms Bale’s left foot was examined on Wednesday morning after he left Tuesday’s training early, and it was feared he had suffered a broken toe.

But the Wales international’s presence in the 20-man group to go to Vallecas appears to indicate he hasn’t suffered broken anything, AS suggesting Bale was suffering from bruising and nothing more.

Ancelotti had hinted he could rest Bale as a result of the knock and with a 20-man squad he could still miss out, with James Rodriguez and Isco both potentially playing.

Real Madrid squad to play Rayo Vallecano:

Casillas, Navas, Pacheco, Varane, Ramos, Coentrao, Marcelo, Carvajal, Nacho, Kroos, James, Bale, Isco, Lucas Silva, Modric, Illarramendi, Ronaldo, Benzema, Hernandez, Jese.
