Pep Guardiola enjoyed watching Barcelona as a fan during the win over Manchester City and, in particular, the display of Lionel Messi.
The Bayern Munich Coach was in the stands, in his member’s seat, next to his father and his right-hand man, Manel Estiarte, for the 1-0 win over the Premier League champions.
It was a game settled by an Ivan Rakitic goal but Messi’s performance caught the eye and, speaking to Catalan radio after the match, Guardiola joined the chorus hailing the Argentine.
“This was very nice. Barca played well and created a lot of chances. It’s a luxury to watch Messi,” he said, AS reports.
“It’s a long time since my last visit to Camp Nou and this seat is a very good place to watch from,” Guardiola added when asked why he didn’t sit in the director’s box.
