Lionel Messi has spoken of his respect for Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Sunday meeting between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Argentine forward was interviewed by Canal+ shortly after Barca knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League and talk inevitably turned to el Clasico and his personal duel with Madrid’s No.7.
“I have a lot of respect [for Ronaldo],” Messi began, AS reports.
“Madrid are more dangerous with him. It can’t be said he’s in poor form or not fit.
“Individually they have impressive players and it’s when they’re stronger. We’ll try to play our game as we do against every rival.”
