Suarez loving Barca life

Luis Suarez has expressed his delight at finally hitting form for Barcelona after realising his dream of “playing for the best club in the world”.

The Uruguayan attacker struggled in his first few months with La Blaugrana as he was unable to debut until October due to a ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup and scored just three goals in the first half of the season.

However, having struck six times in his last six appearances and forming a critically-acclaimed frontline with Lionel Messi and Neymar, the 27-year-old is revelling in his new-found feeling of importance at Camp Nou.

“I’m very happy at [Barcelona]. I’ve fulfilled my dream of playing for the best club in the world and I’m enjoying it,” he told BeIN Sports.

“I’m contributing to the team and that leaves me feeling calmer and important.

“I started [my Barca career] by creating chances and failing to take them, but that didn’t bother me.

“I’m very critical of myself, especially when I noticed that I hadn’t been helping the team with assists or goals.

“However, when I started scoring and helping the team [in attack], I felt important.

“My family are very happy in Barcelona and enjoying the city. My children are in school and my wife’s very happy.”
