Everton linked with Barca striker

Barcelona striker Munir El Haddadi is top of Everton boss Roberto Martinez’s wish list, according to the Daily Star.

Martinez, who has previously asked the Catalans about Adama Traore, Martin Montoya and Sergio Roberto, is now reportedly set to turn his attention to 19-year-old Munir as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.

The youngster shot to prominence at the start of this season when he took advantage of Luis Suarez’s ban to force his way into Luis Enrique’s side, making his official bow and scoring in a 3-0 win over Elche at the Camp Nou last August.

His subsequent performances earned Munir a call-up to Vicente del Bosque’s Spain national team squad and he went on to make his debut when coming on as a substitute in a Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia.

However, since then the youngster’s career appears to have stalled and Martinez is ready to pounce should the Catalans agree he can go out on loan.

West Ham United and Sunderland are also believed to have asked about his availability, although the excellent relationship Martinez has with Barca after taking Gerard Deulofeu on loan last season could tip the balance in his favour.
