Barca to swap Tello for Danilo?

Barcelona intend to push through a deal for Porto full-back Danilo once their transfer embargo is lifted next year, according to Sport.

The Catalans are unable to sign any new players until January 2016, but that has not stopped the rumour mill linking them with moves for a number of players, the latest being the Brazilian.

The 23-year-old has been the Selecao’s first-choice right-back since the World Cup, despite competition from the likes of Dani Alves and Douglas Maicon.

Danilo’s contract with Porto expires at the end of next season and has a release clause set at €50m, but talks over an extension until 2019 have reportedly stalled.

The Portuguese giants are believed to have received numerous offers for the ex-Santos player – a former clubmate of Neymar’s – but for now will not entertain bids of under €40m.

However, Barca are encouraged by Porto’s stance, rather than being deterred, as they interpret it as an opportunity to bargain with O Dragoes.

Additionally, they could use forward Cristian Tello, currently six months into a two-year loan at Porto, in any deal and use Neymar as a mediator in the transfer.
