Ramos eyes Madrid improvement

Sergio Ramos believes Real Madrid still have room for improvement, despite their 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday.

Aritz Elustondo gave La Real a shock lead inside the first minute, but Los Blancos eventually found their stride with goals from James Rodriguez and the defender, before Karim Benzema put the Basques out of sight with a brace in the second half.

“We need further improvement on set-pieces and try not to suffer going a goal down so early,” he said after the game.

“It was a very quick goal, but we knew how to react and score the equaliser. We keep improving but it’s a deserved result for us.

“After the [bad] start to the year, we’re on a good run again. I prefer to keep this up until the end of season.

“The season’s still very long, and we’re still in the lead but we must be realistic.

“Obviously [my renewal’s] not important to me, I’m in no hurry. I have two years of my contract left and everyone at the club knows I want to stay here for a long time.”
