Rodriguez set for Atleti exit

Reports in Italy and Spain claim Atletico Madrid have agreed to loan Cristian Rodriguez to Parma for the rest of the season.

The winger has played just 291 minutes for Los Colchoneros this season and is keen to leave the club in a bid to secure first-team football.

According to Sky Sport Italia and now Marca, his wishes have been granted by Atleti, who have allowed him to join the Serie A club on a temporary basis.

However, Rodriguez is yet to give the green light to the switch, amid links with other European sides including Premier League duo QPR and Sunderland.

Parma, meanwhile, are in desperate need of new blood as they remain seven points adrift, despite registering two wins in their last three matches.

Rodriguez's contract at Atleti expires at the end of next season, while the Spanish newspaper adds the Ducali have offered €800,000 to keep him permanently, providing they avoid relegation.
