Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Malaga starlet Samu Castillejo this January, reports AS.
The 19-year-old has been one of the finds of the season in La Liga, consolidating his place in the Andalucians' first team with 14 appearances to his name and helping his side finish the first half of the campaign level on points with a European place.
Consequently, his performances for Malaga have not gone unnoticed, with the champions believed to have already enquired about the left-footed winger, although no proposal has yet been formalised.
However, the Spanish newspaper adds that any deal would likely see Castillejo remain at La Rosaleda until June 2016, in the same vein as Real Madrid new boy Marco Asensio, who will stay at Mallorca until the end of the season.
Castillejo's contract expires in 2018, with a buyout clause set at €20m.
