Arsenal have allegedly held talks with Sergio Ramos’s agent as the Real Madrid defender stalls over signing a new contract.
A report in AS claims the Gunners appear to be favourites to land the Spain international should he decide to quit the Santiago Bernabeu, after recently declining the offer of a two-year extension,
It is understood the Londoners have made contact with Rene Ramos, the player’s brother and representative, and are waiting to see if the 28-year-old would consider a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea have also been linked with a potential swoop for Ramos in January, although Arsenal are also believed to have cash available right now as they look to bring in an experienced quality defender.
Even so, the Daily Express reported last week that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has kick-started attempts to bring him to Stamford Bridge and he would likely cost at least €25m.
