Barcelona will have to get past Manchester City if they are to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The clash is a repeat of last season’s clash between the two clubs when the Catalans prevailed 4-1 on aggregate and looks to be the plum tie of the last 16 .
Defending champions Real Madrid, meanwhile, have drawn Bundesliga outfit Schalke, who they overwhelmed in last season’s competition with 6-1 win in Gelsenkirchen and a 3-1 win in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo scoring four times over the two games.
Cross-city rivals Atletico, meanwhile, have also been paired with a German outfit in the shape of Bayer Leverkusen, the clubs having already met in the 2010-11 season when they played out two 1-1 draws in the Europa League.
The ties will be played on February 17/18 or February 24/25.
