Ramos out of Ronaldo superlatives

Sergio Ramos admitted no superlatives could be considered worthy enough of describing Cristiano Ronaldo's impact at Real Madrid.

The Portuguese forward scored his 200th La Liga goal and surpassed both Telmo Zarra and Alfredo Di Stefano in netting the highest number of hat-tricks in the Spanish top flight thanks to his treble for Los Blancos against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

"The figures he reaches are crazy," Ramos explained to reporters after the match.

"The truth is that it's a privilege for Real Madrid to have a player like him in their squad.

"You have to invent words to define him. He's breaking all the records, maybe he's now in the prime of his career."

The defender then reflected on his own landmark – a 300th League appearance for Madrid – before praising both Celta's resilience at the Santiago Bernabeu and Carlo Ancelotti in light of the Coach's rumoured renewal.

"It's a special day for me because it's not every day that you reach such an important number of appearances in La Liga," he added.

"Collectively things have gone very well, with the winning streak, and we are up there [in the table].

"Hopefully I can continue for many more years here and double that figure [of 300 appearances].

"Celta played very good football. They protected the ball well, tried to keep possession and [showcased] the variety of systems which they've developed throughout the season. They were very effective.

"Ancelotti's renewal is great news. He's a steady Coach and will hopefully be here for as long as possible.

"Carlo knows how to manage the team and will hopefully last here."
