Carlo Ancelotti is in no rush to extend his Real Madrid contract and will leave the decision to the club if they want to keep him.
It was reported on Monday that Madrid had started the process of adding a few years to the Coach’s existing deal, which runs until 2016.
At his Press conference to preview Madrid’s game against Liverpool the Italian was asked if his ‘people’ had been in contact with the club.
“I don’t have people. The players are my people. I don’t know if the President has spoken with them,” Ancelotti replied, AS reports.
“I’m comfortable. There’s time to talk about this. I have a year-and-a-half and there’s time to talk.
“I’ve said I would stay if the club is happy with me.”
Ancelotti added that he isn’t concerned Madrid will switch off amid their 11-game unbeaten run, saying the mood of the players is what gives him confidence.
“I don’t fear this. The team gives me great confidence and we are playing with concentration,” he continued.
“We did well against Granada and now we think of Liverpool. The players know better than I do that every game is a test.
“In every game you can improve or do worse. The run gives us confidence and nothing else. It might happen that we lose a game but the team is as professional as can be.
“I like to talk about the team, not individual players. We have great players of world football and within the group everyone knows how important each player is.
“We’re playing well and we’re very focused on our game.”
