Luis Enrique has waxed lyrical about Lionel Messi after Barcelona’s 6-0 win over Granada in which the forward scored twice.
Neymar grabbed a hat-trick in the commanding win, with Ivan Rakitic also on the score sheet, with the Coach also praising the contribution of Xavi Hernandez, who made a rare start.
“Xavi was at a very high standard and I’m happy to have him here,” Enrique said, according to Marca.
“Messi, he’s someone touched by a magic wand. I enjoy seeing him play so much I want to see him on the pitch.”
Enrique also commended Munir El Haddadi and Sandro Ramirez, the youngsters both involved in the match.
“Munir and Sandro are team players with a clear idea of helping the team. It’s their first year, it’s a trial and a transition,” he added.
Asked about next month’s Clasico, Enrique dismissed talk of a match so far in advance, insisting the focus was on the short-term.
“I don’t care about the Bernabeu and I don’t know when we play there,” he replied.
“I’m interested in Paris Saint-Germain and Rayo Vallecano.
“I’m not sure about the XI against PSG. It’s like having a closet full of coats and picking the one you want.
“We’re proving our ability and effectiveness regardless of who plays.”
