Luis Suarez has revealed he was grateful to be given the opportunity of a run-out with Barcelona’s B team on Wednesday.
The Uruguayan, who is banned until October 25 for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during last summer’s World Cup, was on target twice for the reserves in a 6-0 friendly win over Indonesia’s Under-19 side at Barcelona’s training ground.
The striker completed the full 90 minutes against the Indonesians, who are in Spain preparing for next year’s AFC Asian Cup, and took just 12 minutes to find the net, racing onto a through ball and placing a shot across the goalkeeper that went in off a post.
Suarez notched his second of the game on 67 minutes and afterwards posted a message on Twitter.
“Great game with Barça B, I’m grateful to the team and the Coach for the opportunity. Now to give my teammates some support [at Malaga],” it read.
