Luis Suarez is set to wear a Barcelona shirt for the second time on Wednesday when he plays for the club’s B side.
According to AS, the Uruguayan has asked boss Luis Enrique if he can turn out for the second string against an Indonesian Under-19 side on pitch seven at the Ciudad Deportiva, with the game set for a 4pm kick-off local time.
Suarez is due to return to first team action on October 25 when Barca face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, although the only action he has seen this season was a few minutes in the Gamper Trophy following his ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in the World Cup.
The former Liverpool striker’s progress has caused a great deal of interest in Catalonia and the match is to be broadcast live on television, on Barca TV and Esports 3.
