Sergio rues Espanyol mistakes

Espanyol Coach Sergio pointed to mistakes his team made as the reason Valencia were able to record a comfortable 3-1 win in their Sunday night meeting.

Goals from Pablo Piatti, Dani Parejo and Paco Alcacer gave Los Che the victory with Sergio Garcia converting a late consolation penalty.

It was Parejo’s goal that Sergio argued was the decider, telling reporters that he could have no complaints with the outcome – although he did have some with referee Clos Gomez.

“Valencia were better and we can’t justify the loss with the officials,” he said, according to AS.

“It’s not an excuse but the refereeing hurt us.

“It was always a difficult game but Valencia scored an early goal and we tried hard but it didn’t go for us.

“We were better with the ball than we have been before but without the ball we were clueless, worse than in other games.”
