Barcelona have confirmed Luis Suarez will be available to face Real Madrid in El Clasico on October 25.
FIFA initially handed the former Liverpool striker a four-month ban from all football activity, plus a nine-match suspension from international football and a fine, for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup.
However, the Uruguayan appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), who decided to uphold the length of punishment but lift the football activity ban.
“The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed to FC Barcelona that the Uruguayan's suspension will end at midnight on Friday, October24, thus clearing him to appear in his first competitive fixture for his new club against none other than Real Madrid, should Luis Enrique opt to play him,” read a statement on Barca’s official website.
