Luis Suarez is set to play his first game for Barcelona on Thursday, although it will be against the club’s B team, reports Marca.
The practice match has been arranged so the former Liverpool striker, banned from playing competitive football until late October, can catch up on his fitness, and is set to take place at 6.30pm local time at Barca’s Ciudad Deportiva training complex.
Boss Luis Enrique is expected to be present to monitor the Uruguayan’s progress, following his attendance on Wednesday and Thursday at a seminar in Nyon organised by UEFA for some of Europe’s leading coaches.
It is understood the Catalans will attempt to organise another couple of friendlies for Suarez’s benefit, although the tight early-season fixture schedule means there are not many days from which to choose.
