Antoine Griezmann has said he is settling in well with Atletico Madrid as he feels he is an important part of the champions’ squad.
Griezmann left Real Sociedad for Atletico over the summer and told an interview that Diego Simeone has already inspired him.
“Everything is going great. The Coach has given me confidence quickly,” AS reports the France international as saying.
“Even though I just got here, I feel I’m an important player. I give my all on the pitch.
“It was my desire to go to a club where I could play. When Atletico called I didn’t hesitate.”
Griezmann denied he could have left La Liga and said he wouldn’t have anyway as he feels Spanish football suits him.
“The League is one of the best championships in Europe,” Griezmann continued.
“I wanted to stay because I feel very good here. I really like the game in La Liga. In France the weather isn’t good enough…
“No one other than Atletico called me. I had no particular contact with Monaco.”
