The agent of Elche midfielder Carlos Sanchez is having talks with Premier League side Aston Villa, AS has reported.
Diego Merino is said to be in Birmingham and Villa could meet the €2m release clause in the Colombia international’s contract.
Everton and Queens Park Rangers have also been linked with Sanchez but Villa are now leading the chase.
The 28-year-old Sanchez is said to be keen to move to England, having represented his country at the World Cup.
It’s felt the move could be completed this week as Sanchez is tonight to train with Elche, but it’s expected to be his last session with the club.
