Inter in for Alves?

Inter are in pole position to sign Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, according to reports from Catalonia.

Sport say Alves, who will be told he can leave Camp Nou this summer when he returns to training on Tuesday, would prefer a move to the Premier League but the strongest interest is coming from the Nerazzurri.

A fee of €6m would be asked for by Barca but the club may agree to a lower figure in an effort to get Alves’ €12m wages off the books for the next year.

It would be a repeat of the cut-price deal that took David Villa to Atletico Madrid last summer.

Liverpool had been linked with an approach for Alves but Sport add their interest waned when the signing of Javi Manquillo from Atletico became a possibility.

The Reds were among the first to ask about Alves, it’s claimed, and tried to talk down Barca’s price, before walking away from the deal.
