Arjen Robben isn’t sure the Netherlands had anything left to give after they were beaten by Argentina in the World Cup semi-final.
It took penalties to separate the teams, with Ron Vlaar and Wesley Sneijder missing for the Dutch, while Argentina converted each of their four attempts.
“We need to switch our minds very quickly because we can be incredibly proud of this team,” Robben told Dutch outlet NOS.
“We have given everything, everything, everything together. Now we’re out and it sucks.
“But I am so incredibly proud of this team. Seriously.
“That’s penalties. We were so close to the final. But they took them better. Unfortunately, that was it.”
