Angel Correa, the Argentine forward bound for Atletico Madrid, is to undergo a heart operation after a problem was discovered in his medical.
The club have confirmed the procedure, adding it is a minor operation that will be conducted via microsurgery and the player will recover in a matter of days.
Correa’s move to Vicente Calderon from San Lorenzo will be confirmed once the procedure is completed, although he will remain with his current club for as long as San Lorenzo remain in the Copa Libertadores.
He will complete an €8m transfer and sign a five-year deal, becoming one of a number of strikers the champions will sign this summer.
AS add that with Diego Costa expected to join Chelsea and David Villa already moving to New York City FC, Atletico will sign two forwards – not including the purchase of Correa.
Romelu Lukaku, Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Negredo are all names the report claims are under consideration.
