Modric cleared of ligament damage

Croatia and Real Madrid have received positive news regarding Luka Modric’s foot injury.

The Blancos midfielder suffered a knock in the Eastern European’s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brazil on Thursday night.

And fans’ feared the worst when Modric was seen spending the majority of Friday in hospital for suspected ligament damage.

However, it has been revealed by the Croatian Football Association that an MRI scan "proved there is no fracture or ligament damage”.

The former Tottenham man is therefore expected to recover in time for their game against Cameroon next week.
