Ronaldo arrives at Portugal camp

Cristiano Ronaldo has checked in with Portugal to prepare for the World Cup, along with a couple of Real Madrid teammates.

AS reports that Ronaldo, Pepe and Fabio Coentrao today arrived at the country’s training base in Obidos, 80km south of Lisbon.

The trio were given extra time off to recover from Saturday’s Champions League final, held in Lisbon, which Madrid won 4-1 against Atletico Madrid.

Ronaldo has been struggling with a hamstring injury and appeared in discomfort in the final, but played the full 120 minutes, scoring a last minute penalty.

Portugal play their first World Cup game on June 16 against Germany but before that have a number of pre-tournament friendlies.

They meet Mexico on June 6 in Boston and the Republic of Ireland on June 10 in New Jersey.
