Sergio Gonzalez is expected to be confirmed as the new Coach of Espanyol tomorrow, reports in Spain have said.
AS claims Espanyol could announce the appointment at a Press conference and barring any unforeseen events, Sergio is effectively the new boss at Cornella-El Prat.
A number of names have been mentioned as replacements for Javier Aguirre, including Javi Gracia, Jose Angel Ziganda and Gaizka Garitano, Coach of newly-promoted Eibar.
But Gonzalez is the chosen successor, it’s believed, having previously been in charge of the Espanyol B team.
A midfielder, he previously played more than 100 times for Espanyol, and also represented Deportivo La Coruna for the best part of a decade.
