Costa ‘needs 15 days rest’

Diego Costa has been told to rest his hamstring injury for more than two weeks, threatening the Atletico Madrid striker’s World Cup place.

Vicente Del Bosque said on Sunday that he will not take players to Brazil if they’re unfit but it has been confirmed that Costa is carrying a grade I hamstring injury, Marca reports, and has been advised to rest for 15 days.

Spain’s first World Cup game, against the Netherlands, takes place on June 13 – 18 days away.
