Barca win Copa Catalunya

Barcelona have won the 25th edition of the Copa Catalunya after defeating Espanyol on penalties in last night’s final.

The match between Catalonia's 'big two' ended goalless after normal time, with both sides fielding reserve teams for the match in Girona.

With no extra-time being sceduled, the encounter went straight to spot-kicks in the Catalan equivalent of the Copa Del Rey.

Blaugrana youngster Munir stepped up to fire home the winning penalty in a 3-2 shoot-out win for the Camp Nou giants.

The win is the eighth time Barca have lifted the trophy. It represents the only piece of silverware they have won this season.
