De Gea set for WC call-up

Reports in the Spanish Press this morning indicate that David De Gea will get the call for a World Cup place.

With Victor Valdes out with a cruciate ligament injury, there is a free space in Spain’s squad for the tournament in Brazil.

Iker Casillas and Pepe Reina are certainties to be on the plane, leaving just one spot available for a third-choice shot-stopper.

And Marca claim that that spot will go to the Manchester United No.1 after his impressive campaign for the Old Trafford outfit.

It means that Real Madrid man Diego Lopez will be left at home, with Vicente del Bosque opting instead for youth.
