Zidane dismisses Madrid exit

Zinidine Zidane has played down reports he is to leave Real Madrid to take a position as a Coach for next season.

The World Cup winner has been linked with the likes of Monaco and Bordeaux with some reports claiming it was inevitable he departed Santiago Bernabeu.

Zidane is one of Carlo Ancelotti’s assistants and has said he wants to be a Coach at some point in the future, but AS reports that Zidane released a statement to L’Equipe in which he denied he was on the verge of a move.

“As always, everyone is talking a lot. And as always, I am compelled to respond,” Zidane said.

“I have not had contact, even remotely, with Monaco, as I’ve heard. In short, I have not had contact with anyone.

“I’m under contract to Real Madrid, I’m with Real and my priority is Real, the League and the Champions League final. Full stop.”
