Miranda to Barca, Mangala to Atleti?

Sport has reported that Barcelona could try to sign Miranda from Atletico Madrid, with Atleti then going for Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala.

Both players are represented by Jorge Mendes, Sport adds, although Mangala’s ownership situation is complicated by the presence of a third-party, Doyen Sports.

But Barca have made signing a centre-back a priority and Miranda’s name is the latest in a long list of rumoured targets.

Luis Enrique, the Celta Vigo Coach expected to take over from Tata Martino at Barca, would have to agree on the signing of the Brazilian, it is noted.

Barca have Marc Bartra and Gerard Pique as natural centre-backs in their squad but Carles Puyol is to leave Camp Nou and Javier Mascherano is to be returned to a more natural midfield berth.

It’s further claimed that Mendes is behind the Miranda-Mangala move. The France international was offered to Real Madrid but Los Blancos prefer to focus on tying down Raphael Varane.
